Best Places To Visit In Haridwar

Haridwar is the land where god's doorway found, is situated on the foot of Himalaya and is cleaned by the holy Ganga.  
It's believed that a spiritual journey can't be completed until you don't visit the Haridwar. The Hari Ki Pauri Ghat is also known as the place where Lord Vishnu's invisible feet are located. The pilgrims don't forget to take the sacred dip on this Ghat due to these high pilgrim importance.
While you are visiting the Haridwar, there are many mesmerizing places are exist here, after these many places you will make a list of 17 places.

    Har Ki Pauri – For A Sacred Dip

Distance from Haridwar railway station is 1.8Km

Landmark- Near to long clock tower, Ganga Aarti place, Shiv Murti, and Ghat crossing bridge.

Hari Ki Pauri is the main Ghat in Haridwar’s many Ghats. Though different Ghats are made for different purposes, Hari Ki Pauri Ghat is made with stoned, concrete, and marbles for mainly bathing purposes. The Ghat has enough space for sitting, bath, and prayer purposes. The world-famous evening Ganga Aarti time ghat becomes much crowded. There is a safety iron chain layer in Ghat water for pilgrim's bathing security this warns pilgrims to not jump or cross over this layer for a holy bath. Beyond this iron chain, water level and the water current are high and more possibilities for accidents there. Though the festive or Kumbh Mela time the Ghat attracts maximum pilgrims round the year. Gau Ghat

Gau (Cow) has big importance in the Hindu religion and society, it’s also known as Kamdhenu as per Hindu mythology. Kamdhenu was the name of the cow that known as full fill the wishes. It also believes that pilgrims come here to get their wishes fulfillment by taking a sacred dip here. Gau Ghat counts in Haridwar’s main Ghat as big crowed are seen here. The Ghat is also known as was used to blown ashes of Let  Mahatama Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, and Indira Gandhi’s in Ganga.  


Asthi Pravah Ghat

As per the name of this Ghat, pilgrims come here for their ancestors or family ash blow in the Ganga river. Pilgrims come here, first, and pray then after they float the ashes. The Ghat Purohits use to help the pilgrims. The Ghat is used for death rituals mostly as forefather pray and related activity are usually seen here. So, the less crowded can be seen over the round year here. The pilgrim, who avoids the rush and is calm can be comfortable here. The hotels and shops are found near here. 

Subhash Ghat 

This Ghat is named to remembrance the Indian freedom fighter Late Subhash Chandra Bose, once the Bose has taken a sacred dip here in the Ganga river. Then after as a memory of Subhash Chandra Bose, a statue is established here on the Ganga river bank. The location of this Ghat is close to the main bathing Ghat Hari Ki Pauri. Pilgrims get the magnificent view of Ganga from here, which mesmerizes every tourist.

Vishnu Ghat – The Legacy Of Lord Vishnu

Vishnu Ghat is one of the calmest and peaceful Ghat, it believes that lord Vishnu once visited here then after this Ghat is known as Vishnu Ghat. Pilgrims come here to see the panoramic the Ganga view. This is also one of most visited Ghat in Haridwar that attracts pilgrims due to its peaceful beauty and they believe that their sins will wash after bath here. The Ghat has enough space for bath and sit.


Birla Ghat – Another Pious Ancient Ghat

Birla Ghat is the best option for silent and peace-loving pilgrims this is adjacent to Vishnu Ghat also known as one of pristine bathing Ghat at Haridwar. The pilgrims attract here to come and take a dip in Ganga water due to its calmness in regular days is believed to absolve their sins after taking bath in the Ganga river. The Ghat is surrounded by temples (Om Nileshwar Mahadev, Digamber Jain), Ashrams (Shri Ram Sharnam, Swami Pramanand), and many shops.

Chandi Devi Temple – Another Picturesque Temple

Landmark- Near Maya Devi and Manasa Devi, Mansa Devi temple is situated at top of Neel Parwat on Sivalik hill which is almost chain of Himalaya.
Maa Chandi Devi temple is one of three holy Haridwar Shaktipeeth, that devoted to the main deity goddess mother Chandi Devi. It’s a very spiritual place and you can feel and soak spiritual vibes. The temple is situated at the top of Neel Parwat on height 208 meters and devotees reach the temple by climbing steps and ropeway (Cable Car- INR102/person). The cable car option is very economic and while you travel you will see the natural beauty of Haridwar about 2 hours journey. On the temple height, you can view the Haridwar city.

Maya Devi Temple – One Of The Shaktipeeths

Maya Devi temple is one of three Haridwar Shakti Peeth. The main deity of the temple is goddess-mother Maya. Haridwar was previously known as Mayapuri in reverence to this deity. Navratri festival time big devotees crowd use to see in the temple. This temple is located in the east to Hari Ki Pauri, you can reach easily as the temple is accessible to auto rickshaw and buses.


Vaishno Devi Temple – The Most Religious Place

Niketan Temple Bhuma– A Popular Pilgrim Spot

Bhuma Niketan temple is located on Saptrishi Marg in Haridwar and Swami Bhumananda Teerth Ji Maharaj founded this temple, whereat the main deities are lord Shiva and lord Vishnu in the temple. Lord Shiva and Parvati’s sculpture is situated on the temple entrance. The temple is known as a  Hindu shrine as many Hindu Gods and Goddess is here, the temple provides shelter too for many pilgrims as well. As a registered trust, the temple governs all administration by own and also provides the free food and accommodation facility for needy travelers. The temple plays many big roles for Society strengthen like conducts mass marriage of girls belonging to a poor family and enabling widows to become self-independent.  


Bharat Mata Temple – Patriotic temple

Bharat Mata temple is an eight-story building, this is visible from the big distance. The temple is devoted to Mother India and it’s patriots and freedom fighters. The temple constructed by Swami Satyamitranand Giri and inaugurated by late Smt. Indira Gandhi (Former prime minister) in 1983. Usually, very rarely we see such patriotic temple which dedicated to freedom fighters and country.

Each floor has a different theme and story that dedicated to several patriotic legends and deities. The mother of India statue on the Indian map is very often visited by tourists.  The temple involves in many activities to support Indian society and offers many social services i.e. accommodation for shelterless tourists.   


Gauri Shankar Mahadev Temple – For peace & divine

The temple Gauri Shankar Mahadev is devoted to God Shiva and Goddess Gauri. The temple is located at Bikeshwar Nagar Haridwar near to Chandi Devi temple. The Ganga river flow adjacent to the temple and in background Himalaya stands here, all these create a picturesque view of the temple. Devotees bring here coconut, flower, incense sticks for the shrine. Pilgrims believe that their wishes get full filled by praying at Gauri Shankar Mahadev temple. Devotees and tourists are as usual seen at the temple in high number but on the Shivaratri festival, the time number of devotees count seen high.


Adbhud Mandir – Magnetized place

The Adbhud Mandir is located on Sapt Sarover Marg in Haripur Kalan Haridwar. Adbhud Mandir is the newest temple in Haridwar as opened in 2016. There is a grand entrance that welcomes all pilgrims. The temple is founded by Swami Achyutanand Ji Maharaj. The temple is spread in a very huge area and there is much space for Gods and Goddess. Adbhut Mandir is located amid of nature, the green lower Himalaya mountain, blowing Ganga river’s sound and the breeze air mesmerized tourists and pilgrims here. These make the temple is very peaceful and unique from another temple.  The main deity of the temple is god Shiva and Parvati.     


Daksh Prajapati Mandir 

Daksheswar Mahadev or Daksha Mahadev temple is located on Kankhal Haridwar. This is a Hindu temple and the main deity is Lord Shiva here. 
Daksha Prajapati was the father of Sati. As per Hindu mythology, this is the place where at Daksha Prajapati organized Yagya, he didn't invite her daughter's husband (Lord Shiva) in Yagya to offend. Sati (Daksha's daughter) jumped in Yagya Kunda and sacrificed her life as her father insulted her husband lord Shiva. Nowadays Lord Shiva’s idol statue is established in Yagya Kunda place.
Devotees come and collect in huge numbers at Shivaratri, every Monday and in Hindu Savan month. 

Bilkeshwar Mahadev Temple – The Shiva family temple

Bilkeshwar Mahadev temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and his family, near to Haridwar railway station. Pilgrims can reach the temple by walk. The temple is surrounded by woods as it has a hill location.
The huge pilgrims are seen in the temple on Monday, Hindi Savan month, and every lord Shiva festival. 

Anandamayi Ashram – That Spiritual Connect

Maa Anandmayi has belonged to the Bengali family, she was a spiritual lady and had faith in the Hindu religion. She started this Ashram and her name known now as a branded name in religious services I.e meditation, Yoga, Asana, hostel, education, Yagya for his students, and who has love in Hindu religion. The whole Ashram is in a well-organized way, there are different departments that run in many buildings separately in the Ashram compound. The visitors, as usual, see round the year here, they come to Ashram from different parts of the world. It has been observed that most tourists use to visit Gayatri Yagya Shala, Ati Rudra Yagya Shala, Rudraksha Tree, Shankaracharya hall, Annapurnasthal, Maa Anandamayi museum, Maa Anandamayi Vidyapeeth mainly in these Ashram complexes.
The Ashram gets good ratings and references from visitors as it maintains all with very systematically.
